Pediatric Dental Care

We provide comprehensive, individualized dental care to all of our patients. We promote a relaxed environment at our office to ensure a comfortable experience. Each patient will be able to watch his/her favorite DVD while having their teeth cleaned.

We also offer care to those who require special attention, such as:

Children and adolescents with special needs. Dr. S is specialized in treating children with autism, cerebral palsy, and Down's Syndrome.

We offer the following patient care services:

Emergency Care

Emergency Care is provided on a same day basis. We provide emergency care 24 hours a day.

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia is administered in two different forms, topical or injected. The topical anesthetic is applied to the tissues to prevent pain on the surface of the area. It is usually first applied to the gums to minimize the pain of an injected anesthetic. An injected anesthetic is applied directly into mouth tissues in order to numb the area in preparation for filling cavities, root canals, crowns and periodontal disease.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide is a gas that is inhaled to help patients relax during their dental visits. Patients remain conscious. It serves to decrease the child's anxiety level.

IV Sedation

"Dr. S" utilizes an anesthesiologist from Tysons Corner.   We now offer an in-office sedation option.  The intravenous sedation method is a safe and predictable way to treat a child's dental needs.

Laser Dentistry

With the advent of lasers in dentistry, it is possible to minimize the amount of anesthesia used to treat children.  The laser avoids the drilling procedure. Please visit www.biolase.com for more information on this latest technology.
